During your renovation, you won’t be able to use your bathroom. If it’s your only bathroom, or if you’re renovating all of your bathrooms at the same time, we recommend moving out of the house for 3-4 weeks until the project is complete. To help with this, we’ve negotiated great rates with local hotels. Ask your sales rep if you’re interested!
A typical 3-piece bathroom will take about 3 weeks to complete from start to finish. A half bathroom can take about 1-2 weeks to complete, and a large 4 or 5 piece bathroom will likely take 4 weeks to complete.
Probably not. You will only need permits if you are moving walls or drain lines. If you are just replacing fixtures and tiles, permits are not necessary.
No. You don’t need to leave your property during your renovation. Although, if the bathroom that you’re renovating is your only bathroom, you might be more comfortable elsewhere.
We can fix these issues during your renovation, so there’s no need to fix them beforehand. Our team is well equipped to handle mold, plumbing leaks, rotten studs or subfloors, and any other problem that you might face.
At least a month before the start date. It can take several weeks to ship certain products – particularly tiles, vanities, and glass. For this reason, it’s best to start planning at least 1 month in advance.
Nope. We have an extensive material catalogue and a great interior design team that can help you make decisions. Our team will purchase and deliver all of the materials to your home when they’re needed.
One of our project managers will visit your home to verify the details of your project and take final measurements before ordering materials. This typically takes place after your first design consultation.
The $500 deposit that we charge is to ensure that you’re serious about your project. Once we begin working on your design, the deposit is not refundable.
Yes. We can get custom glass or millwork made to order for projects that require them. Generally, we tend to avoid these details as they can draw out the length of the project and increase the cost substantially.
Once we confirm what materials will be installed, we charge the full cost of the items. At the start of the project, we will charge 50% of the total labour cost. The remaining 50% is due at the completion of the project.
Yes. Our project manager can bring samples to you during the site inspection, before the project starts. Alternatively, you’re welcome to visit our suppliers’ showrooms.
The cost of permits depends on your scope of work. The best place to get this information is on your city’s website.
If your house or condo was built before 1990, we will need to test for asbestos to be safe. Asbestos is a very harmful substance and can cause serious health problems if not dealt with properly.
The cost to test for asbestos is $150 + $75 per sample. Most bathrooms will need 2 or 3 samples to be sure that they are clear of asbestos.
If the bathroom does contain asbestos, a licensed environmental team will be hired to complete the demolition. During this time, you will need to be out of your home for a few days while they complete demolition, and test and treat the air. Once this is complete, the renovation continues as usual.
